The seed for Bloomington Neighbors Nurturing Nature (BNNN) was planted when a few neighbors began the restoration of their seriously degraded and disgusting neighborhood wetland/storm water pond (Winchester Pond). The effort engaged more neighbors, as well as created connections with others throughout the city doing similar natural restoration work in their neighborhoods.

Each neighborhood effort echoed similar stories that reflect the longtime favorite story of Stone Soup. The many talents and commitment of neighbors came together to restore their neighborhood green space.

And so BNNN sprouted. Starting with 4 Board Members, we look to grow and multiple the many Neighborhood and Community Stone Soup stories restoring and preserving the many natural treasures in our City.

We are a 501c3 organization, created to be:

The community-catalyst to -

To create, restore, and maintain healthy, equitable, public natural and green spaces, by working to build and ensure a sense of community among neighbors, through collective action focused on the natural ecosystems in which we all live.

We look forward to you joining the community effort to restore Bloomington’s natural treasurers!!
