Olson Schools Nature Area Restoration

Goal

Restore a degraded wetland while enhancing the environmental education opportunities for students of Bloomington Public Schools.

Strategies 

• Develop sustainable restoration plan

• Remove invasive & over-populated vegetation

• Plant native vegetation (grasses, flowers, shrubs, sedges, and trees) to establish both a natural shoreline buffer and appropriate native vegetation to provide habitat for pollinators and wildlife and support sustainable landscape

• Design the site to improve the environmental education for Olson Middle/Elementary Public School students

• Ensure ongoing and appropriate maintenance
