The non-profit, Bloomington Neighbors Nurturing Nature (BNNN) & City of Bloomington have partnered. We'll be cutting and then stacking the buckthorn brush along Bloomington's only trout stream just a few blocks from Mall of America. Tools (Hand saws and brush loppers) as well as a snack at 1:30PM breaktime provided. Feel free to bring your own favorite buckthorn cutting tool. Recommend bringing heavy gloves and drinking water. Girard Lake Park Restoration Project
Join us as we start a new restoration project at Girard Lake Park. This Spring and Summer we will be focused on buckthorn and honeysuckle cutting and piling, branches and log piling, invasive plant pulling (e.g. garlic mustard), and native planting on steep slope areas to address erosion and begin restoration of an oak savannah. Gloves encouraged, tools provided. Meet on the east trail by the bottom of the stairs.

Poplar Bridge Tree Planting
Join the Poplar Bridge PTA and students as we plant around 50 trees at Poplar Bridge. Should be a fun family event. Gloves encouraged.
Kennedy High School Courtyard Planting
Join the Kennedy Green Club in planting more than 2,000 native in the final phase of turning the Kennedy courtyard into a sustainable natural space for students, teachers, and staff. We will be planting between 9:00am and 4:00pm each day. Hope you can join us.
